In this first release we only use against MusicBrainz releases since these have more accurate track length dataīut it also improves performance significantly as we no longer need to generate Acoustid fngerprints for all songs. This method allows us to find matches that we could not match before, since there are many releases in MusicBrainz that are not yet linked to AcoustIds. Albunack Disc Ids only match if all the track lengths match as well.
It is more accurate, freedb can return matches for CD's where total album length and number of tracks is the same but individual track lengths are different. so once a match is found SongKong can add high quality MusicBrainz metadata not poor quality freedb data.ģ. We are looking for matches in Albunack database not Freedb. Both calculate track length to the nearest second.Ģ. The Freedb algorithm is based on CD disc offsets, AlbunackDiscId is based on track lengths. You don't need the CD, it may never even have been available as a CD. This is similar to the freedb lookup but has three important difference:ġ. If you already have folders representing a whole album (or disc of a multidisc album) and the filename/metadata can correctly identify the order of the tracks then we create an AlbunackDiscId based upon the order of the tracks and the length of each track, we can then compare that with albums in the MusicBrainz database. Running SongKong on your Melco avoids the effect of the network when reading and writing music files, and because access is via a web browser you only need a phone or tablet to use it, a PC is not required.īut if you are using a PC although you introduce the network overhead when reading and writing files the processing power and memory capacity of your PC is likely to be significantly greater than your Melco so overall processing time is likely to be quicker.

With the Status Report it shows the 4 blue bars and eventually shows 0/6357 songs but then the Melco disconnects from SongKong and if I refresh, it can’t connect to the IP address. After numerous attempts I finally got there and it shows the SongKong page. I then tried the IP address adding 4567 on the end to get to SongKong on my Laptop. I have uploaded SongKong to the Melco and it shows version 7.0. I have just purchased a pre-loved Melco N1Z SSD that has been updated to EX spec. Hello - I can’t get anything to work within SongKong and my Melco automatically switches off the SongKong service if I try any of the features within SongKong i.e.
